Bicycling With Complete Safety is a pre-war bicycle safety film tells children that a bicycle is a tool for their path to adulthood: “I want to encourage every boy and girl to ride,” says the uniformed police officer. The film goes on to say: “It helps you grow into strong, healthy men and women.”
The film ends with the promise that if young boys learn to ride safely, “Twenty years from now, you’ll still come home to dad and mother,… you’ll be the man they want you to be, and fellas listen, sometime you’ll have a boy of your own, and you’ll want him to always be careful.”
