PEZ Turns 20: L’Eroica PEZ Rides With the Heroes
In early October 2011, PEZs own literary specialist Les Reissner joined some 3000 others riders for an epic day pedaling the ribbons of strade bianche across the hills of Toscana in the ride known simply as lEroica a true ride back in time. Heres how he spent 10 hours and 27 minutes from start to finish.I am not one of the original writers for PezCyclingNews, having joined on in (I think) 2007 but I suspect Literary Editor I have reviewed more cycling books in in the last fifteen years than anyone else! And as entertaining as those books have been, Pez has given me the opportunity to get out of the library as I rode in the Astana team car…
PEZ Turns 20: Chuck’s WORLDS’15 Weekend!
I’m sort of the new kid on the block, having become a contributor to PEZ in 2015. But I’d been a longtime reader and my connection to PEZ started the year before when my (and my RAAM teammate, Sam Bishop’s) #steelisreal Hollands was featured in Readers’ Rigs. And the PEZ crew is so close knit that it feels like I’ve been here forever. This is the second piece I penned for PEZ (the first being my ride of the Richmond 2015 Worlds course). And it was my first time back to a pro race since the 90s — when I went to the Tour de France on a Breaking Away tour with my wife, was at every edition of the Tour…

US ‘6 Days’ Winner Ryan Oelkers Gets PEZ’d
Rider Interview: An American winning a professional ‘6 Days’ is quite something, but a US team to win the ‘6 Days’ of Moscow is stunning. Ryan Oelkers and Marty Nothstein did just that in 2002. Ed Hood spoke to Ryan about his historic win and his track career. The 2021/22 six day program may be heavily truncated thanks to the pandemic but we thought you might like this piece of race to nowhere, nostalgia from two decades ago. . .Cleveland, Ohio, 1949 and when Charles Bergna and Cecil Yates hoisted their bouquets over their heads little did they know that it would be more than 50 years before another US pairing would do the same thing. It was Bergnas third win…
